Microsoft is making price changes across several products and services. Here are the key updates:
- Microsoft 365 Copilot: Starting December 1, 2024, a new monthly billing option will be available for annual subscriptions of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales, and Microsoft 365 Copilot for Service. This option will come with a 5% price increase.
- Power BI: Effective April 1, 2025, the cost of Power BI Pro will increase from $10 to $14 per user per month, and Power BI Premium Per User will rise from $20 to $24 per user per month.
- Microsoft Teams Phone: Also, effective April 1, 2025, the price for Teams Phone Standard will increase from $8 to $10 per user per month, and Teams Phone Standard for Frontline Workers will go from $4 to $5 per user per month.
- Standardization Across Annual Subscriptions: Starting April 1, 2025, Microsoft will extend the monthly billing option (with a 5% price increase) to additional products, including Microsoft 365, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Windows 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Services, and Microsoft Power Platform.
- Microsoft has announced changes to monthly billing: Starting April 1st, 2025, Microsoft will be charging a 5% premium for annual licenses paid on a monthly basis (as distinct from month-to-month licenses, which are charged a 20% premium). Customers with annual agreements that renew before April 1st, 2025 won’t see a price impact until the following year. Customers with renewal dates on or after April 1st, 2025 will see the price increase begin the first month of their renewal.
These changes from Microsoft aim to provide more flexibility in billing while standardizing pricing across different platforms and services.
